Immunology and Pathology

Research Topic

The aim of our research in the Department of Immunology and Pathology is to contribute to prevention, diagnosis and treatment of immune-related diseases, such as autoimmune diseases and allergy. We seek to elucidate the pathogenesis of these diseases by utilizing gene-manipulated mice and various biochemical analyses. We focus on the molecular mechanism of T cell development by investigating functions of novel genes specifically expressed in the thymus.
