Research Topic
We investigate the pathogenesis and mechanisms of severe illness caused by viral infections and identify novel therapeutic targets and develop biomarkers.
Since viral infections are caused by the interaction between humans and viruses, we also focus on human factors and incorporate new analytical methods to search for new human disease-related factors.
With the goal of translating basic research into clinical practice, we work with model animals and patient specimens.
Focus
- To analyze the mechanism of pathogenesis by hepatitis B virus
- To analyze the replication mechanism of hepatitis C virus
- To analyze the mechanism of pathogenesis by SARS-CoV-2
